Dyno Runs, Round 1: 11/3/01--- 423.4RWHP --- 485 Crank HP equivalent.

11/3/01 Runs are Pre- cams and headwork and exhaust.  Estimated new numbers significantly higher.

These Dyno runs were made on pump gas.   Air temperature around 65 degrees with low humidity.  Correction
factor for std. atmosphere was very minimal.  These are temperature corrected figures.   Car was run on two
runs only, with the first red run being run a little tentative and under reduced throttle and let off before 6000 rpm.
Fuel used was 93 octane Shell premium. There was no time to try race gas for this run.  The graph shows two
HP traces per run, the lower RPM traces were run in 3rd gear to approximate spooling at low rpm.  At approx
4500 rpm the traces were stopped and paused for a moment.  From 4500rpm on, I instructed the technician to
squeeze the pedal down and not go full throttle until approximately 5500rpm.   The dark blue traces in the second
run show a run up to the rev limiter.   In the first red run, in the lower RPM portion shows over 310lbs/ft of rear
wheel torque at 3800rpm.  The second blue run more represents the spool characteristics with 200lbs/ft at
3000rpm.  The blue run indicates that the 6500 rpm  rev limiter is currently holding back peak power, as both
traces HP and torque are both very close to peak.  Assuming standard 15% driveline loss that equates to 485hp.
Most Lexus models lose around 18%, yielding a 499hp figure at the crank.
